We have no shortage of talented businesses here to choose from in Austin, TX, and Gojema is no exception. Not just a candle company, they also make room + linen sprays and even soaps.
What makes Gojema special, in our opinion, are their distinctive scents. Inspired by cultures and people from all across the world, it truly shows the thought put into the scent combinations and really the power of smell, emotions, and memories. Scents like Smoked Oak + Bergamot and Wild Sage + Oakmoss are just a few examples of these unique pairings.
Launched in 2018, Gojema uses USA grown soy wax and cotton core wicks for their candles. All of their scents are essential oils-based and are all phthalate free.

It's July in Austin, and that means it is HOT. I think we're in our sixth week straight of days with 100+ temps. It makes it impossible for us to ship candles in this heat, and considering candles are one of our most-requested products, having an alternative is vital. Bonus: these room sprays are made with plant-based alcohol.
But as soon as we dip back down into cooler weather, trust us, the candles will return. We love the unisex vibe and everyones loves these candles. (They're very popular in our men's gifts, too!)
We don't carry anything from anyone unless we actually enjoy the products. We do test everything first (yes, we eat the chocolate and burn the candles. It's a fun gig.) We take everything into consideration — scents, sustainability, branding and packaging, and how the product works. And let it be known that this is Steely's favorite soap of all time: the Bay Leaf + Bergamot Body Bar.
"It's the creamiest soap I've ever used! I'm no soap connoisseur, but I always keep bars on hand and this is one of my all-time favorites." — Steely
It doesn't hurt that JP himself or someone from his team hand-delivers our orders! He's always got a big smile and a friendly compliment when he drops at our studio. We're always so proud to see our local makers grow and expand — Gojema started off at farmers markets and events, and has grown into a full warehouse/retail space.
